HELLO YEAR 1

GOOD  MORNING  (BONJOUR)

Thank you for sending us pictures of your school.
It is beautiful.
In our school we have two different playgrounds where we can play ; the first one is for the youngest pupils (3 years old) and the second one for the oldest. The 3 MS  classes use both of them alternatively. We can ride bicycles in the two of them. There is also a hall between the two playgrounds.
We can use a big gym structure in it.
During breaks we like going on the slide, getting on and off the train and playing ''chat perché" (perched cat) :
One is the cat and has to touch another one on the arm ; if so, he or she becomes the cat and has to find someone else.
But when the other players are on a step, they are safe. So the cat has to be quick.
We can also play with the white lines on the concrete.
But during breaks we cannot play with a ball.

We are clapping the syllables of our names.

Our names are :
Tris/tan                                 TRISTAN
Ma/non                                 MANON
Au/gus/tin                             AUGUSTIN
Ti/mé/o                                 TIMEO
Thé/andre                             THEANDRE
Ma/ry/lou                               MARYLOU
Clé/o/phie                             CLEOPHIE
Jo/han                                   JOHAN
Sa/ran                                   SARAN
Ca/mille                                 CAMILLE
Je/mi/ma                               JEMIMA
Lou/ane                                 LOUANE

We know how to write our names in capital letters.
We only use capital letters for writing.
We will learn next year how to write in cursive writing.

Now we are learning to sing "Head and shoulders" in the big hall.

We like singing.

On Thursdays, the three MS classes join together in a small hall and learn new songs.
We sing our songs to our parents twice a year : in December
and in June.

Here we are singing a very easy song :

"Les petits poissons"

Les petits poissons dans l'eau
nagent, nagent, nagent nagent nagent
Les petits poissons dans l'eau
nagent aussi bien que les gros.

which can be translated in English as :

''Little fish"

Little fish in the water
can swim, swim, swim, swim, swim
Little fish in the water
can swim as well as big ones.

Here we are singing in our classroom.

GOOD-BYE   /  AU-REVOIR   YEAR 1
